We are delighted to share the success of our recent Summer Bridge Program. This program,  which ran from June 3 to July 12, 2024, in Glendale, AZ, was designed to provide our students  with an immersive and enriching experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE).

The Summer Bridge Program featured a dynamic schedule, running virtually from Monday to  Thursday and offering in-person sessions on Fridays for those who could attend. This hybrid  model allowed students to benefit from the flexibility of online learning while also gaining the  hands-on experience that in-person classes provide.

Our program was led by a team of certified CTE teachers, each bringing a wealth of knowledge  and a passion for education. Every week, students explored different career clusters, gaining

insights into various industries and professions. This exposure was invaluable in helping them  understand potential career paths and the skills required for success in those fields.

We were thrilled to partner with JA Inspire, Girls Who Code, and our own Career and  Explorations course to enhance the program. These collaborations brought a range of informative  and experiential opportunities to our students, including:

  • Information Sessions: These sessions, offered both virtually and in-person, provided  comprehensive insights into the CTE programs available at ISAZ and Arizona Virtual  Academy (AZVA).
  • Experiential Learning: Students participated in hands-on activities aligned with our CTE  programs, giving them a taste of the knowledge and skills they would develop in a full  CTE pathway.
  • Guest Speakers: Professionals from our partner organizations shared their experiences  and expertise, inspiring students and providing a real-world context to their learning. • Virtual Field Trips: These trips allowed students to explore our partner organizations  virtually, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how the skills learned in CTE programs are  applied in the workplace.

The Summer Bridge Program was open to students in grades 6 through 9. For incoming high  school students, the program offered the chance to earn half a credit, while middle school  students could earn elective credits for the 2024-2025 school year. More importantly, the  program provided a foundational understanding of the CTE pathways available at ISAZ and  AZVA, equipping students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

Reflecting on the success of this year’s Summer Bridge Program, we are excited about the  future. The enthusiasm and engagement from our students have reinforced our commitment to  providing meaningful educational experiences. We look forward to expanding this program and  continuing to inspire and empower our students.

At Insight School of Arizona, we are dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of our students.  Whether through credit recovery courses, concurrent enrollment with Rio Salado College, or our  English language learner program, we strive to offer a comprehensive and tailored educational  experience.

Thank you for being a part of the ISAZ community. We are proud to support our students on  their educational journeys and look forward to continuing this important work together.
