About Our School
Letter from Our Executive Director
Dear Parents and Students,
As head of school for Insight Academy of Arizona, I’m pleased to tell you about our public online school’s mission and purpose.
While we accept students of all ability levels in grades 7–12, our school has special strengths in helping students who are struggling—for various reasons—in their education. A struggling student may have failed certain courses, is bored or turned off by school, misses school days, feels unsafe at school, or perhaps has received suspensions or been held back.
Many factors can contribute to these struggles. Among them are learning issues, behavioral issues, bullying, or a lack of effective alternatives at their current school.
Insight offers a fresh start and a different model that will set your student up for success. Our approach is not to judge but to help students learn in the ways that work best for them.
We’re an online school, but what does that mean? For most students, it means they attend school from the safety of home where they can focus on their studies without distractions, without peer pressure, and with the help of excellent Arizona-certified teachers, caring counselors, advisors, and a parent or other adult acting as their “Learning Coach.” Daily structure and lessons are provided through an engaging online school environment, where classes meet together virtually and learning progress occurs.
In today’s world, it’s never been more important for students to finish high school. High school dropouts have an unemployment rate that is 50% higher than high school graduates. Further, once a student successfully completes high school, they can consider postsecondary schooling options—from community college to vocational programs to a four-year college—or pursue a job in the workforce.
Our career and college prep program provides an opportunity for all Insight students to take career-focused classes.
We have an outstanding team of educational professionals who devote their careers to the success of our students! We have impressive ways to personalize learning for your student, while also providing social and emotional support. I urge you to review more details to learn how we help students succeed and to read an overview of our outstanding curriculum, provided by K12. Also, please be sure to check our information session schedule—the best way to learn more about our school and receive answers to all your questions.
Of course, if you’re ready to enroll, please do! If you choose to join us at Insight, and I hope you do, I look forward to welcoming you to a remarkably supportive school that can help turn struggle into success for your child.
Sincerely,
Cedric Corbin, MS | Executive Director | ccorbin@k12.com
