A Glamorous Night of Connection for ISAZ Students at Prom

For many students, high school is as much about social milestones as it is academics. High school traditions help shape lasting memories and mold young adults into who they want to be.  

At Insight Academy of Arizona (ISAZ), students are proving that online learning does not mean missing out on those traditional high school experiences. Through school events and in-person activities, ISAZ continues to foster a strong sense of community for students across Arizona.   

On May 28, ISAZ faculty, along with a dedicated committee of students, hosted the school’s fifth annual Prom – and it turned out to be the biggest celebration yet! 

More than 150 students attended Prom, and each student had the opportunity to bring a guest. Unlike many schools, ISAZ welcomes all high school students to Prom, including freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. The school also removes financial barriers by covering attendance costs for both students and their guests, ensuring every student has the opportunity to take part in this memorable experience. 

This year’s Prom theme, “A Night in Old Hollywood,” brought timeless glamour to life with elegant décor, themed refreshments and era-inspired music. The evening was filled with excitement, laughter and dancing, along with a special crowning moment as students named a king and queen. 

ISAZ seniors Jimmy W. and Evy F. were crowned king and queen after being nominated and selected by their peers. Both students are outstanding examples of leadership and character, demonstrating a strong commitment to academics, community service and making a positive impact on their classmates. 

Evy said, “Most of my senior year was living behind a screen, but I traded the pixelated classroom for the real-life spotlight. Being crowned Prom Queen felt amazing and like the perfect opening scene for my next chapter. I’m heading straight into independent filmmaking after graduation, and honestly? Getting to experience that night in person—the lights, the energy, and the crown—was the best reminder that the most compelling stories aren’t just watched; they’re lived. I’m ready to start my film career!” 

The unforgettable evening was made possible through the hard work and dedication of the school community. A five-student Prom committee, made up of members of student government, helped plan every detail. Their involvement and investment played a meaningful role in bringing the celebration to life. 

Over the last few years, the event has grown into a cornerstone experience for the ISAZ community. Year after year, students look forward to Prom not only as a fun night out, but as a meaningful tradition that brings classmates together in a festive and memorable way. 

With opportunities like Prom, ISAZ continues to show that online learning can offer both flexibility and connection. Students are able to benefit from personalized pacing while still enjoying shared experiences that support friendship, social development and a strong sense of community. 

Ultimately, Prom is more than an evening of dancing and celebration; it’s a powerful reminder that connection, community and tradition can thrive in any learning environment.
